Remote Access

December 20, 2010

In this day and age, rare do you find a person using only one “computer.” We use one at work, we have one at home, our mobile cellular phones and mobile entertainment devices serve many functions that used to be found only on computers. And among all this devices we have our files. Movies, music, spreadsheets, letters, photos are stored on this devices and at times need to be accessed on the other. This need has been addressed by different means using various applications but for me the most easy to use would be LogMeIn. You just need to create an account, install their program on the device you want to remotely access and you’re good to go. Best part is, you can use it for free. They do have premium accounts wherein you can do file transfer and other stuff but the most basic is enough for you to remotely access your computer. You can view the screen, control the keyboard and mouse and do whatever you want as if you are sitting directly in front of it. The only catch is it is only as responsive as your internet connection speed (host and target device). There are other good programs out there such as TeamViewer but personally, LogMeIn is better.
